What is NahTahZu.com?

This is a fan website dedicated to and focusing exclusively on Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park, located in Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The site was launched on April 22, 2009 with the goal of becoming the premier source of news and information about the park for those who have not been there, or for those who want to re-live the experience of this vast, exotic park. As we grow, we aim to become the primary gathering place for those who love this most natural of Disney parks.

Who is NahTahZu.com?

NahTahZu.com is the work of one family: John and Terry Mayer, with able assistance from our children Jessica, Grace, and Patrick. And always with the aid of visitors who have contributed content and corrections.

Why NahTahZu.com?

Okay, there are two different ways to answer this question:

If you did not visit Walt Disney World during the early- to mid-2000s, you may have missed the promotional campaign where the Animal Kingdom was described with the word "NAHTAHZU!" Say it quickly. Get it?

If you really want to know "why did you create this site?" there are several reasons:

1. We wanted to create a presence on the web, and the best advice is always to start with something you love.
2. The Animal Kingdom was our kids' favorite park, and seeing it through their eyes made us love it, too, so it was the perfect subject for a web site.
3. We have come to understand that this feeling is not universal. Some people just don't get the Animal Kingdom, even harboring an active dislike for it, thinking that Disney made a colossal blunder in developing the park. We hope that we can sway at least some of those people to look again.
4. Finally, we were inspired by StudiosCentral.com, the wonderful site developed by Matt Hochberg and dedicated to Disney's Hollywood Studios. If Matt could pull off a site dedicated to just one Disney park, we figured we would give it a shot.
