The Adventure Begins

Description

Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto welcome guests to the Animal Kingdom with a little skit about their upcoming adventure. Goofy is confused (what else would he be?) until they manage to contact their Official Adventure Guide (guess who?). In the end, the crowd chants along with the characters: "Let the Adventure Begin!"

The show takes place in front of the Tree of Life just across the bridge between The Oasis and Discovery Island.

History

The Adventure Begins has taken the place of The Awakening, a show that took place at the Park Entrance starring Rafiki.

Review

This show is typical of Disney park openings, filled with characters, the indispensible Mickey Mouse appearance, and enough energy to get the crowd moving first thing in the morning.

For it's lack of originality, this could be a Lion, but since we recommend you be on hand for park opening anyway, we'll give it a Triceratops to convince you to catch it.

Touring Tips

• If you're heading for Expedition Everest or Dinoland U.S.A. first, work your way to the middle to see the show. You will avoid being cut off by folks from your left heading in the same direction - most on your left are probably bound for Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Hidden Treasures

• Watch Pluto for most of the show. Without a script to speak of, he has to pull his part off with mime, and does a fine job.
